Iranische Offizielle erklärten Reuters gegenüber, dass Teheran die Öffnung der strategischen Meerenge ablehnt. Damit widersprachen sie einer Falschmeldung des Axios-Journalisten Barak Ravid, wonach die USA über eine 45-tägige Waffenruhe verhandelten.
Die sogenannten Waffenstillstandsverhandlungen dienten demnach als Taktik der Trump-Administration, Aktienhändler in die Irre zu führen und ein schnelles Kriegsende zu suggerieren, während Insider auf die Fortsetzung der Kampfhandlungen setzten.
