The Transfiguration of Our Lord

Saint of the Day, August 6, 1965
by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira

August 6 is the feast of the Transfiguration of Our Lord Jesus Christ. On this day, the first church on Mount Tabor was dedicated. Tradition has it that Mount Tabor was the “high mountain” described in the Gospel as the site of the Transfiguration.
In 1457, Pope Callistus III ordered this feast to be solemnly celebrated throughout Christendom in thanksgiving for the defeat of the Turks in Belgrade, especially due to the heroic efforts of Saint John of Capistrano. The novena to Our Lady of the Assumption also begins on this day.
We all know the Gospel episode in which the Lord goes up with Peter, James and John to the top of Mount Tabor. At a certain moment, He manifests Himself in all His glory with Moses on one side and Elijah, our spiritual father, on the other.
The disciples are so enthralled with His glory that they express a desire to remain there. However, this external manifestation of glory gradually diminishes as the …More

‘On Cleaving to God’ ~ Attributed to Saint Albert the Great (St. Albertus Magnus); ‘That one should not be concerned about feeling…’; Chapter 10; pages 12-13

[Saint Albert the Great – Albertus Magnus – XIII Century AD; born: Duchy of Bavaria/died: Cologne, Holy Roman Empire; (Aged ca 80); German Dominican friar, philosopher, scientist, and bishop; one of the greatest medieval philosophers and thinkers; Doctor of the Church]
Chapter 10 ~ That one should not be concerned about feeling tangible devotion so much as about cleaving to God with one's will
Furthermore you should not be much concerned about tangible devotion, the experience of sweetness or tears, but rather that you should be mentally united with God
within yourself by a good will in your intellect. For what pleases God above everything is a mind free from imaginations that is images, ideas and the representations of created things. It befits a monk to be indifferent to everything created so that he can turn easily and barely to God alone within himself, be empty for him and cleave to him. For this reason deny yourself so that you can follow Christ, the Lord your God, in nakedness, …More

Now Italians are crying to Putin to help them.

Vladimir Putin took part in the plenary session of the IX St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum – the Forum of United Cultures.
Italian Publisher complaining to Putin about his country and how things are suppressed, how he no longer is invited by publishers as a political scientist. That we have the most severe censorship anywhere of speaking as a patriot. Then pleads with Putin later on about helping to save and publish literature. I want to ask our rulers such a question and there are no need for enemies. We not only provide Ukraine with weapons, we pay 12 million in pensions to pensioners in Ukraine every month. He went on to complain about other things going on.
I know Putin is called King of Russia, Prince of Russia, The last Emperor of Russia, Father and Grandfather not only in Russia but around the world. But they need to give him a break. He is only one man. It's time to give the man a break. Crazy how many people around the world look up to him and love him. And how he …More

‘HOW GOD MAKES USE OF PURGATORY…’ ~ ‘Treatise on Purgatory’ by Saint Catherine of Genoa; 1915; Chapters XIII-XIV; pp. 36-39

[Saint Catherine of Genoa ~ XV-XVI Century; born: Genoa, Republic of Genoa/ died: Genoa, Republic of Genoa; (aged 62-63); Mystic; Spiritual Writer]
Chapter XIII ~ HOW THE SOULS IN PURGATORY ARE NO LONGER IN A STATE TO MERIT, AND HOW THEY REGARD THE CHARITY EXERCISED IN THE WORLD FOR THEM.
IF the souls in purgatory could purge themselves of their stains by contrition,
they would in a single instant discharge all their debt, so ardent and so impetuous an act would they make, seeing in so clear a light the effects of the impediment which hinders them from attaining to their end, which is God, the object of their love. And be assured that the souls have to pay what they owe even to the uttermost farthing : this is God's decree, to satisfy the demands of justice. As to the souls themselves, they have no choice of their own in the matter ; they see nothing but God's will ; nor do they wish otherwise, because they have been so determined.
They would not care for alms contributed by the living …More

Belgian Trappist Sisters Close Their Abbey

The Trappist sisters of Notre-Dame de Brialmont Abbey in Tilff, in the Diocese of Liège, Belgium, celebrated a Eucharist of thanksgiving on 25 July before leaving the abbey after 65 years at the site.
The Eucharist was celebrated by Bishop Jean-Pierre Delville of Liège together with Dom Xavier Frisque, abbot of Orval and the superior responsible for the Brialmont community.
Only six sisters remain in the community. The Order announced in February 2026 that the abbey would close because of the sisters' advanced age, declining numbers and the absence of new vocations.
Pope John Paul II paid a private visit to the abbey in 1985.
The Diocese of Liège said a new ecological, social and spiritual project for the site is being developed in partnership with Orval Abbey and other local partners.

"PSALM 39
Expecting, I have expected thy grace: and thou hast done with me according to the multitude of the mercies of thy name.
Thou hast heard my prayers: and thou hast led me out of the den of misery, and from the pit of the enemy.
Manifold and wonderful are thy gifts, O Lady: incomparable are the gifts of thy graces.
Let all those exult and rejoice in thee who love thee: let them who have hated thy name, fall into hell.
Blessed be thou forever, O Lady: forever, world without end.
Glory be to the Father, etc."

PSALM 38
I said: I will keep my ways, O Lady:
when by thee the grace of Christ was given to me.
By thy sweetness my soul was melted: my bowels are inflamed by thy love.
Hear my prayer, O Lady, and my supplication: and let mine enemies pine away.
Have mercy on me from Heaven and from the height of thy throne: and permit me not to be troubled in the valley of misery.
Keep my foot, lest it should be injured: and may thy grace be with my end.
Glory be to the Father, etc.

Instaurare Omnia in Christo

TRUMPS QUOTE: VOTE FOR ME AND YOU WILL NEVER HAVE TO VOTE AGAIN!
YES! WE WILL STARVE TO DEATH OR DIE BY HIS NUKES. Is everyone having fun yet? He is part of the globalist and elites. Every best friend he has or had were. Why wouldn't he be? And defending them and threatening us to drop our conspiracies about them?
And still "some" are blind and still running after their savior and hero. Defending him and attacking Catholics for exposing him for the beast that he is. Insanity has taken over the world.
People will see evil as good and good as evil. And here we are today. Imagine that!

Insanity! Infidels are now "saints"? These Judas "priests" seem to hate God and all that is holy.

Novus Ordo Goes to the Dogs: On 26 June, a video of a Eucharistic celebration at the Santo Domingo Savio parish in Villavicencio, Colombia, went viral after two dogs started howling along with Rev. Carlos Mario Peña Lopera as he sang a hymn. The dogs, Simón and Luna, are strays that the priest took in and who now regularly accompany him at Eucharists, often sitting near the altar. According to Rev. Peña Lopera, Luna had not previously joined in the howling alongside Simón. The priest continued the hymn without interruption.
