An abbey with almost 900 years of history is up for sale in France for around two million euros. Notre-Dame de Langonnet in Brittany was founded in 1136. The estate includes around 5,380 square meters of buildings, set within nearly 58 hectares of woodland, meadows and agricultural land. For centuries, Cistercian monks prayed here and shaped the area around the monastery. After the horrors of the French Revolution, the Spiritans - the congregation whose later superior general was Monsignor Marcel Lefebvre - made Langonnet their home in the 19th century. They remained for nearly 170 years. Generations of missionaries passed through the abbey before leaving for Africa and other parts of the world. Now that chapter is coming to an end. The last Spiritans are leaving, including elderly members of the order who had spent their retirement at Langonnet. The property has reportedly been looking for a buyer for around two years, while attempts to find a future that would preserve its religious …More
Everyone, except for the FSSPX: In a new video message, Leo XIV says we must “walk together” to ensure that “no one is marginalized, isolated, excluded, or rejected.” He tells the youth they must “Be builders of bridges between peoples, cultures and religions.”
"Be sure that you first preach by the way you live. If you do not, people will notice that you say one thing, but live otherwise, and your words will bring only cynical laughter and a derisive shake of the head." -- St. Charles Borromeo
Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40 And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” 41 So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

The latest Vatican Synod proposals seek to expand the participation of the "People of God“ in the selection of bishops. To understand why this matters, we must look beyond the proposal itself. For the architects of the post-conciliar Church, the expression “People of God” became the foundation for a new way of understanding the relationship between the hierarchy and the faithful. The emphasis is no longer placed primarily upon a divinely established hierarchy that teaches and governs the Church, but upon a community in which all the baptized are increasingly presented as sharing responsibility for determining the Church’s path. This new vision naturally produces synodality. And synodality means that the Church must continually listen, consult, dialogue, discern, and “walk together.” The voice of the clergy is joined to the voice of the laity, while the distinction between those who possess sacred authority and those who are subject to it becomes increasingly blurred. The latest proposals …More
– Folha de S. Paulo, April 26, 1979 – by Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira The “most obvious weaknesses of present-day civilization.” What, then, is the conception of man — and of his “conveniences” — proposed by the new current John Paul II alludes to in his address to the Latin American bishops at the opening of the Puebla Conference? The Link Between Atheism and Collectivism Considering the question in general terms, does the new humanism logically lead to a right-wing, centrist, or left-wing position? The message does not say so. In the section on “the truth about man,” it identifies leftism in its various shades as the content of the new humanism, without specifying whether this link stems from the very premises of the system of errors it condemns or from one of those fortuitous coincidences that are not uncommon in history. In my view, this is not a coincidence but a genuine, logical sequence. Those who do not believe in God but only in humanity are led to see the full realization of this …More
10.09.2026 RATIONAL VERSION OF THE CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH III. THE CHURCH IS CATHOLIC ⇡ The Church and non-Christians ⇡ 845 To reunite all his children, scattered and led astray by sin, the Father willed to call the whole of humanity together into his Son's Church. The Church is the place where humanity must rediscover its unity and salvation. The Church is "the world reconciled." She is that bark which "in the full sail of the Lord's cross, by the breath of the Holy Spirit, navigates safely in this world." According to another image dear to the Church Fathers, she is prefigured by Noah's ark, which alone saves from the flood.334 St. Augustine, Serm. 96,7,9:PL 38,588; St. Ambrose, De virg. 18 118:PL 16,297B; cf. already 1 Pet 3:20-21. September 11 Saint John Gabriel Perboyre. Daughters of Charity on Sep 3, 2013 Lazarist Priest and Martyr (1802-1840) John Gabriel Perboyre was born in 1802 in the diocese of Cahors in France. From his earliest years he was noticed for his piety. As a young student in the minor seminary, he was loved and venerated by all his fellow disciples, who called him the Little Jesus. A year before he advanced to the Major Seminary, his vocation was decided upon: I want to be a missionary, he said, and he entered the Congregation of the missionaries of Saint Vincent de Paul at Montauban. One of the novices who later was confided to his care, said: For many years I had desired to meet a Saint, and when I saw Monsieur Perboyre, it seemed to me God had answered my wish. Several times I said, You will see that Monsieur Perboyre will be canonized.' The two maxims of this Novice Master were: One does good for souls only by prayer. In all that you do, work only to please God, otherwise you would waste …More
Toxic indeed. Although, I suspect some of these are, no doubt, 'protected' by some form of governmental legislation and/or contractual arbitration depending upon the 'circumstances'. Unions have largely betrayed their original worthy and essential purposes.
The text is a fictional, satirical narrative set within the Vatican, focusing on the Dicastery for Communication and the political and power struggles within the Vatican. It describes the tension between t wo key figures: Andrea Tornielli, the current Prefect of the Dicastery for Communication, and Salvatore Cernuzio, a loyalist under Tornielli.
Gunther Eagleman™ @GuntherEagleman D.C. spends $32,000 a year on each kid. One high school: 84% chronically absent. Others at 79 and 78. Graduation rates still climb. Reading and math do not. That’s not underfunding. That’s a racket with a diploma printer. Bowser sent parents a 180-day reminder to show up. Jeanine Pirro is talking fines and jail. One of those is a newsletter. The other is a standard. Unions protect the adults. The children get the empty desk and a fake transcript. School choice isn’t a slogan. It’s the exit from a system that already quit. If the building can’t get them in the chair, let the parent pick a school that will.
At my Catholic grade school, the sisters charged my parents $15.00 a month. My high school was $250.00 a year. I Learned a great deal then and would probably have to pay several thousand a year to get the same education.
Msgr. Indunil Kankanamalage, Secretary of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, attended the Tri Hita Karana Universal Reflection Ceremony in Bali. It was “anchored by an interfaith prayer” and included a Bumi Bajra performance featuring a Barong from Ubud Palace and what they called “sacred rhythms.” Barong is a lion-like ceremonial representation of a supernatural protector in Balinese Hindu tradition, closely associated with Balinese religious and ritual life.
