[ Gilad Atzmon: ] Sodom and the Sodomites
Zionism was a promise to reawaken the Biblical aspiration in the diaspora’s Jews, to make them into Hebrews or Israelites inspired by the Old Testament.Just over a century later it has been realized that another Biblical story dominates the Hebrew’s’ spirit. I am referring to the story of Sodom, the metaphorical reckless capital of sin, the home for the people who defy ethics and morality. The home of the people who sodomize inmates to death with the support of their parliament members and leading rabbis.
Accordingly it could be an interesting exercise to refer to Israel as Sodom and to its Jewish population as Sodomites. But there is of course, another aspect for the story of Sodom. It contradicts the above and it provides a better understanding of the meaning of the Biblical story.
The story of Sodom ia actually a story about the Jewish God being a genocidal maniac of the worst order. A Deity as psychotic as Netanyahu, Einstein, Oppenhiemer, Fritz Haber and other psychotic industrial mass killers in history. Sodom is a story about an evil God who flattens a whole city on its people making it look like Northern Gaza 2024.
The story of Sodom is obviously an attempt to normalize genocide early in the Bible and it seems to inspire the contemporary collective genocidal spirit we detect in Israel today.
The only questions that are left open are why the Jews invented such an Evil God? Why do they believe in such a horrible Deity throughout their history ?
