Council of Europe Votes to Ban "Conversion Therapy," Including Prayer and Religious Practices

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has voted in favor of a ban on so-called “conversion therapy” for homosexuals. The broad term explicitly includes prayers and religious counselling relating to gender dysphoria.
The resolution defines that it is a “false belief” that gender expression is undesirable or capable of change.
It contains no exception for pedophilia.
The text states that prohibited practices include “spiritual and religious rituals,” placing prayer aimed at encouraging alignment with biological sex alongside methods such as coercion, forced medication, and physical abuse.
In addition, the resolution calls for mandatory comprehensive sexuality education in schools, including instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity, with the stated goal of combating “prejudice and misinformation.”
Children are encouraged to identify and report attempts at so-called conversion practices.
While the resolution is formally non-binding, such measures are frequently …Caman

Pope Leo praises Vatican document that rejected Our Lady's 'Co-Redemptrix,' 'Mediatrix' titles - LifeSite

Thu Jan 29, 2026 - 5:12 pm ESTFri Jan 30, 2026 - 9:46 am EST
VATICAN CITY (
LifeSiteNews) — Pope Leo XIV, during an address that concluded the plenary session of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) on Thursday, commended the dicastery’s November doctrinal note that rejected the Blessed Mother’s titles of “Co-Redemptrix” and “Mediatrix of all Graces.”
During Leo’s January 29 remarks thanking the DDF for its work on several doctrinal documents over the past few years, the pontiff briefly lauded its work on the November 2025 note Mater Populi Fidelis (“Mother of the Faithful People of God”), which notably declared the Marian title “Co-Redemptrix” to be both inappropriate and theologically “unhelpful.” The document also discouraged the use of Our Lady’s title of “Mediatrix of all Graces.”
Since its publication, the document has received considerable backlash from numerous Catholic bishops, priests, and Mariologists who have reaffirmed Our Lady’s ancient titles.

Our Lady is one of the two Pillars of the Catholic and Apostolic Church, the other being the Eucharist (Jesus Christ Who is God Himself); this is according to one of St John Bosco's 40 dreams he had. Many Saints and the Church Fathers agree on this; without Our Lady hardly anyone would make it to Heaven; why? Because she is the ARK and Holy without sin Whom God chose Her before all creation for Her Role in Salvation for mankind. Jesus Christ is like the (analogy in spiritual speaking) Chief Executive Officer and Our Lady is His assistant

January 29, 2026 marks the one year Anniversary of His Excellency Bishop Richard Williamson's death on Febraury 29, 2025

Requiescat in pace, good bishop Richard Williamson.
Interview of Bishop Williamson by Fr. David Nix

Richard Williamson was born in the UK during WWII in 1940. He converted from Anglicanism to Catholicism in 1971. He was later ordained a priest in 1976 and consecrated a bishop in 1988, both by Archbishop Lefebvre.
Retired Naval Academy professor Dr. David Allen White wrote that Bishop Williamson is “the most outspoken, detested, persistent, outrageous, implacable, unyielding, forthright, kindly and charitable Catholic Bishop." I hope you agree after watching this video. (The second half is the best.)

The Hardest Death: Yourself
The Gospel reading today emphasizes the importance of being watchful for the Lord’s return, which will come unexpectedly. This unpredictability extends to the trials and tribulations we face in life, which are opportunities for spiritual growth and purification. By enduring these challenges with trust in God’s presence and protection, we can die to ourselves and live for Him, conforming our souls to Christ.

Belgian Bishops Call for Open Debate on Female Deacons

The bishops in Flanders, Belgium, want to keep the debate open on allowing women to become deacons, according to CathoBel.be on January 29. They published a statement saying that the issue should not be considered closed at the local level, even after the recent Vatican study.
The bishops said that church tradition should not be the deciding factor in the discussion, and that "signs of the times" should be taken seriously.
This was in response to the open letter from a group of women frustrated by the recent Vatican study.
The bishops replied that they "understand the women’s feelings".
Furthermore, they said that women should be more closely involved in decision-making relating to theology, liturgy and pastoral care, and described women’s leadership in the Church as “an undeniable enrichment”.
They added that it is not a good thing that only men carry out liturgical roles during church celebrations. They want women to have greater visibility within Church life, within existing limits. …Caman

JESUS CHRIST admonished the people to follow good doctrine, not the bad example of the hypocrite leaders-

Wo to you Scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites: because you are like whitened sepulchers, which outwardly appear to men beautiful, but within, are full of dead men’s bones, and of all filthiness.
So, you also outwardly, indeed, appear to men just: but within you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Iran in The Crosshairs–Again

Photo Tehran Times
Good Friday Morning Beloved Sentients. Blunderbuss Trump is blasting away at friends and foes alike these days as the petro dollar sinks beneath the golden waves. With no defensive weapons to stop the slide, all he can do is flail away and grab headlines in the only effective tool in the US’s multi-trillion dollar arsenal…the Zionist-controlled Western Media.
Last night’s headlines had him threatening doom to three of the US’s enemies du jour…Iran, Cuba and
Canada. Cuba and Canada are both in the Western Hemisphere–territory the US under the Trumpster thinks it owns, Trump thinks he has a deal where Russia takes Europe and Eurasia, China takes Asia and Southeast Asia and the US takes the Western Hemisphere. This deal is something similar to the one cooked up by Churchill and the other Western allies with Russia after WWII.
Trump thinks he worked that deal out in Alaska. But Alaska is where Putin discovered once and for all that Trump is nuts and nothing he says …

No surprise there: "Eighty-two per cent of U.S. religious institutions reported that no members professed perpetual vows in 2025

82% of US Monasteries Had No Perpetual Vows in 2025

In 2025, 82% of religious institutes in the USA had no members making perpetual professions. This is according to the January 2026 study, Women and Men Professing Perpetual Vows in Religious Life: The Profession Class of 2025. It was released by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) at Georgetown University.
The study is based on responses from 520 out of 723 superiors — a response rate of 72% among US religious institutes.
Around 10% of institutes reported one perpetual profession, 8% reported between two and nine. Vocations are highly concentrated in a relatively small number of institutes.
In total, the responding institutes reported 179 men and women taking perpetual vows in 2025, of whom 105 were men and 74 were women. This reverses a historic pattern. For most of US Catholic history, women's religious life has been numerically dominant.
According to the report, 92% of respondents said they had been Catholic since birth. Around 69% were born in the United States. …Caman

Cupich Wanted to Be Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops Instead of Robert Prevost - Report

Cardinal Blase Cupich, 76, of Chicago questioned in 2021 Pope Francis’ idea of appointing Bishop Robert Prevost as Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops, according to LaNuovaBq.it on January 30.
Cardinal Cupich had ambitions to be appointed to the position himself.
Such a move would have blocked his compatriot’s path to the cardinalate and, in all likelihood, to the papacy.
Francis decided otherwise and appointed Bishop Prevost as Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops in January 2023.

One Saint who has brought both Catholics and Orthodox together.

The Basilica of Saint Nicholas in Bari stands as one of Christianity’s most important places of Catholic–Orthodox encounter. Since the relics of Saint Nicholas were brought from Myra in 1087, the basilica has welcomed pilgrims from every nation—becoming a living bridge between East and West.
In this report, Fr. Emmanuel Albano, Coordinator of the Saint Nicholas Ecumenical Institute, explains why Saint Nicholas is often called the saint of interreligious dialogue. Within the same sacred space, Catholic Mass and the Orthodox Divine Liturgy are celebrated—sometimes at the very same altar—offering a powerful sign of unity rooted in prayer rather than uniformity. In this report, Fr. Catholic University Affirms Appointment of Abortion Activist Susan Ostermann to Leadership Post

The University of Notre Dame, operated by the Congregation of Holy Cross, has confirmed the appointment of Susan Ostermann as director of its Liu Institute for Asia and Asian Studies, effective July 1, 2026.
Ostermann, an associate professor in the Keough School of Global Affairs, has publicly advocated for abortion in multiple opinion columns, describing laws restricting abortion as “violence,” “sexual abuse,” and “trauma”. She even linked opposition to abortion with "white supremacy". Her writings have appeared in outlets including Salon, The Indianapolis Star, and the Chicago Tribune.
The appointment drew sharp criticism from Fr Wilson Miscamble, a Holy Cross priest and professor emeritus at Notre Dame, who argued that the decision undermines the university’s Catholic identity and called on the Board of Fellows to rescind it.
Other faculty members also raised concerns about the tone and substance of Ostermann’s abortion advocacy.
In a written statement, the University of Notre …Caman
