On August 13, Leo XIV appointed Umberto Longo, Director of the Italian Historical Institute for the Middle Ages in Rome and Professor of Medieval History at the secular Sapienza University of Rome, as a member of the Pontifical Committee for Historical Sciences. The online footprint of Umberto Longo repeatedly places that name - and, in later cases, an identifiable Professor Longo - within the institutional environment of Italian Freemasonry and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite. The examples span a decade. 2013 - Scottish Rite, Lazio: The Masonic publication LOGOS identifies a certain “Fr. Oratore Umberto Longo 4°” as an officer of the Loggia di Perfezione Maestri Segreti “Giano” in Rome. The publication introduces a series of texts under the heading: “Le Tavole del Fr. Oratore Umberto Longo 4°.” The abbreviation Fr. is used throughout for Fratello - “Brother” - while the number identifies the Scottish Rite degree. More importantly, the issue contains the official 2013 officers …More
Life in the Making It all begins in silence: one cell meets another, and in an instant, a new, unique, and unrepeatable life emerges. The imagery unfolds ceaselessly—division, form, heartbeat—until there is no longer any doubt about what we are seeing: not a mass of tissue, but a tiny body, joined to its mother by a cord that serves as both bridge and lifeline. Hands reaching out, legs curled up, a face settling into sleep just as any human being does. And therein lies the wrenching realization: that very being—already capable of movement, sensation, and resembling us—is the one whose life is chosen to be ended in a late-term abortion. It is not an abstract cell that is being stopped; it is a story that already possessed form, expression, and a heartbeat of its own. That is why those who defend life from conception describe such a decision—particularly in the later stages—as an act of special cruelty: because the biological development itself, revealed without filters, leaves little room …More
Prophecies of the Blessed Virgin. Homily on the Solemnity of the Assumption preached by Father Leonardo Castellani SJ (Universal Sacred Doctor by bull of Pius XI) in 1965. Audio in Spanish and Summary in English.
Joyous Feast Day St Maximilian Kolbe in meditation for tomorrow’s grandeur. In 1854, the Blessed Virgin Mary proclaimed to St. Bernadette Soubirous: “I am the Immaculate Conception.” “Who are you, O Immaculate Conception?” asks St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe. The Knight of the Immaculata In the words of St. Maximilian, the Blessed Virgin is the Created Immaculate Conception, as the Holy Spirit is the Uncreated Immaculate Conception. In the words of St. Francis of Assisi, Mary is the Spouse of the Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son as the perfect and infinite Love between the Father and the Son in the Eternal interior life of the Blessed Trinity. Thus, the Holy Spirit is truly all the love of the Most Holy Trinity. “Hence the Holy Spirit is an uncreated conception, an eternal one; he is the prototype of every sort of human conception in the universe… [He] is a most holy conception, infinitely holy, immaculate.” The Strategy In the return of all created things …More
The Archdiocese of Utrecht has rejected as false rumours that Cardinal Willem Eijk, 73, could have asked Pope Leo XIV during an audience on Monday to accept his early resignation as Archbishop. “These reports are false. He has not offered his resignation,” the archdiocese told the Dutch newspaper Katholiek Nieuwsblad on Wednesday. An archdiocesan spokesman added that there was no basis for such speculation. The audience attracted attention because Eijk has experienced health problems in recent months and didn't attend the consistories in January and June. The archdiocese also provided an update on the cardinal’s health. “It is known that Cardinal Eijk struggled with health problems last winter,” the spokesman said. His recovery had taken longer than initially hoped, but was now progressing well. According to the archdiocese, Eijk is expected to resume his duties fully on September 1. #newsKxqihmxlwe
The Canaanite Woman and a "miracle-snatch" faith... Liturgy of August 16 - 20th Sunday of Ordinary Time A faith that goes against the grain, capable of overcoming all stereotypes... A bold, courageous faith, capable of "dismantling" with the greater power of God's Love, the dictatorship of one's own "pride"... A sure, unshakable faith in the omnipotence of God... A faith capable of "touching" the Heart of God, to the point of moving Him... Here it is the incredible, yet unexpected, "lesson" that comes to us from the Canaanite Woman who manages to "snatch" so to speak, a miracle from Jesus. As Matthew reports: The Canaanite Woman fell down before Jesus and said to Him, "Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely tormented by a demon." Jesus answered her, ""It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs." She said, "Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters." Then Jesus said to her in reply, "O …More
For years, a local farmer spent every single night praying the exact same prayer: "Lord, I’m miserable. I’m convinced there isn't a single person on this earth who has it worse than me. I wake up every day wondering what I did to deserve such a raw deal. I just have one simple request: please let me trade my problems with somebody else. I'd gladly swap my baggage with the first guy I see on the street, because there's absolutely no way his life is as messed up as mine. I’m not asking for winning lottery numbers or a perfect life. Just a simple trade. I'm counting on Your mercy here." One day, his prayers were finally answered. A booming voice echoed from the heavens: "Gather up all your troubles, pack them into a duffel bag, and bring them down to the town church." The catch? Everyone in town heard the exact same voice. So, everybody started packing up their own miseries, heartbreaks, and daily struggles into bags. The farmer was absolutely thrilled. Finally, he was going to ditch his …More
