FATE OF TRADITIONAL LATIN MASS IN ARCHDIOCESE OF MUMBAI LACK OF LATIN CONVERSANT PREISTS
We have read a lot of reports on the rupture between SSPX and Vatican, and the press handouts
given by Vatican that they are schismatic and vilified for not acceding to Vatican II Council reforms.
We would like to comment that SSPX are right to stick to their traditional faith handed down from
first Pope St. Peter and his successors, till Vatican II Council. The crux of the rupture is Paul VI.
who we believe is schismatic, who aligned himself with all sects of Christians, who are outside the
Church, by his Novus Ordo Mass, which is in conformity with Protestant Mass, which they have styled
as Lords Last Supper. The Traditional Mass is related to Sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and offered on the
Altars and not on Mensa Table, as anon. Pope Paul VI, mentally enslaved the majority of Cardinals and
Bishops to his thesis of thinking and they fell for his guile. SSPX did not fall for this mental enslavement
as they were alive to their Rights and Privileges, enshrined in TRADITION. Let me put in succinctly :
A MAN CANNOT BE GRATEFUL TO ANY ONE AT THE COST OF HIS HON OUR.
A WOMAN CANNOT BE GRATEFUL TO ANY ONE AT THE COST OF HER CHASTITY.
A NATION CANNOT BE GRATEFUL TO ANY LEADER AT THE COST OF ITS FREEDOM, BELIEF TO GAIN
MATERIAL BENEFIT AND SELL HIS SELF RESPECT
SSPX Ordained Bishops to continue to lineage, after repeatedly being refused permission by
Vatican. Let no one get into the nitty gritty of this, its a done thing.
Now coming back to Traditional Latin Mass in Archdiocese of Mumbai (erstwhile Bombay), at present this
Mass is offered in 3-churches, Victoria church at Mahim and St. Peter’s church at Bandra on 1st Sunday of every month and
we have started this Mass at St.Anthony,s church at Malwani, Malad . We had tough time to obtain permission from
Cardinal Oswald Gracias,( presently archbishop of Mumbai and one of the 8 cardinals from the globe who is selected from Asia to advise Pope Francis) who asked us to prove a stable group desires this mass, when we send him the
signatures of Parishioners desirous of this mass, he said he does not have Latin conversant Priests. It means
Seminary St Pius X at Goregaon in Mumbai has not introduced Latin. We provided 3-names, Frs. Paul, Philip and his brother
whenever he comes to Mumbai to visit his brother from England. Both are 80 years plus. There are Priests
who will say the mass, but are afraid of sword of Transfers to remote places, as there is one Emeritus
Bishop Bosco Penha, who runs his writ and Cardinal is helpless. This Bishop is deadly against the Traditional Latin
Mass and is responsible for vitiating the careers of many Priests. One Priest has gone to US, another on
Sabatical. Two Priests have left and got married and latest one priest has left and joined as a Pastor in some Group called Born Again, New Life etc. This Bishop says that any priest saying the Traditional Latin mass is termed as a Lunatic Priests There is one Priest who left the SSPX group and joined back, but he too is afraid, though.
He says he is ready, but does not give concrete response. He is now transferred to Dadar Church of Our lady Of Salvation, where the aforesaid Bishop resides . As long as these three Priests are available to us, we alternate them. After their demise, we do not know the fate of this mass. SSPX are banned to offer Traditional Mass in our Churches, although
they are having their services outside the Church in residential flats. Parishioners are afraid, as they fear
isolation viz burial, social boycott, refusal of sacraments etc. We need Latin conversant Priests, which we are
lacking. This is our fate !

Hey Buddy! Latin did you say? Great!! Now if only you could open a special school for teaching that holy language and get all our people to attend classes/training! Unless you think that getting the Latin Mass back is sufficient for our salvation, whereby the Reverends and their acolytes do all the blah while the congregation sits, stands, kneels and sleeps alternating with fingering the rosary beads during Mass. Get that?

Hey, Ladislaus Louis DSouza, you said what you said because you don’t know the meaning of the Mass! It’s a mystery and a MYSTERY of FAITH! If you were born before Vat II, then you have forgotten, if AFTER vat II, then you are not to be blamed for this ROBBER Council systematically destroyed the Faith, beginning with the New Mass, and the other Sacraments.
There are enough traditional sites which will tell you the story if you care for your faith and want to save your soul! Incidentally Latin is still the Official Language of the Church.
As a TAILPIECE the new mass was composed by a FREEMASON Ab Buginini (lodge name Buan ) with the help of 6 Protestant ministers! That there were Priests who never said even a single new Mass. Even Cardinal Ottaviani, who was the head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith (then known as Holy Office) condemned it along with other leading Theologians of the day.

I’m having trouble getting at the root of this. Are you saying that the Cardinal is going to forbid the TLM?
Do you also know if he’s actually said that priests who want to say the Latin Mass are mentally ill? I’d be interested in seeing a direct quote in writing.

For what it’s worth, St Ligouri, who’s Feast is today (August 2nd) said that the devil would always try to destroy the Church by first destroying the Mass. Martin Luther said if the Mass were destroyed so would be the Papacy. Both men were speaking about the Tridentine Latin Mass.
If Bishop Bosco Penha believes that priests who wish to say the Tridentine Latin Mass are lunatics, then I guess all the priests, bishops, cardinals and popes of the past two millennium were all lunatics as they only said the Tridentine Latin Mass… A priest friend of mine in Kerala, one of the few priests in our diocese who still believes that Jesus is the truly God and our only Saviour, personally requested me to get for him a Tridentine Mass kit from the SSPX. when I asked why, he said, “I dont get any spiritual consolation, saying the New Mass.” To hear this from a holy priest like him, who reverentially celebrates the New Mass, was a shocker…
