Sr Becquart: Inventing "Deaconesses" Could Be Left to Bishops' Conferences

Sister Nathalie Becquart, undersecretary of the former Synod of Bishops, told the German newspaper 'Die Tagespost' (25 April) that there is currently "no consensus" on the introduction of a diaconate for women.
But she thinks it would be "a possibility" to leave the diaconate of women to the individual bishops' conferences (sic).
There is already a diversity of [lay] ministries worldwide, she says: "The synod could emphasise this diversity by further decentralising it".
Sister Becquart believes that Francis cannot or will not make a decision at this time. He has therefore again delegated the issue of women deacons to a commission. At the same time, he is "definitely" open to the "question" of the diaconate for women, but will "take a different path".
Sister Becquart sees her leadership of the Ex-Synod as a consequence of a "decoupling leadership positions from priestly ordination".
Francis is also doing this in the Roman Curia by appointing lay people or women to [useless] positions …More

Excerpt from “ Has Nobody Returned from Hell? ” by Abbot F. Chatel:
We must all fear hell.
The holy Pope Pius IX said one day to Cardinal Place: “ One of the first causes of all our current misfortunes is that we no longer preach about hell (Cf. Opinions of day on punishments beyond the grave, by Father Tournebize, SJ, in fine). » He also said to a priest who gave numerous missions in France: “ Preach a lot the great truths of salvation. Preach above all about hell... say very clearly, very loudly, the whole truth about hell. Nothing is more capable of making poor sinners think and bring them back to God (Cf. Mgr de Ségur: L'enfer; Paris, 1876, p. 138). »
The memory of eternal punishments is no less necessary for pious people and consecrated souls than for sinners, and the saints themselves frequently remembered them. Indeed: “There are coming days,” writes Saint Thérèse, “when those very people who have made an absolute gift of their will to God and who, rather than committing an …More

Francis described the concluding October 2024 session of the synod on synodality as the synod’s “prophetic” stage and its “most challenging and important” stage. “Now it is a matter of translating the work of the previous stages into choices that will give impetus and new life to the mission of the Church in our time,” he said. “The most important thing of this synod is synodality, the subjects and topics are there to advance this expression of the Church that is synodality.”

This passage is clear:
“The natural person does not accept what pertains to the Spirit of God.” 1 Corinthians, chapter 2, verse 14
The person who only relies on his strengths and abilities is like a discount battery rapidly losing energy. He is not aware of what God is doing.
A person has reserves of love. But if he’s not connected to the Love of God, if he’s not connected to the source, he comes to believe that love comes from him. He may also believe that love comes from his family or from others, without reference to God. He is divided (disconnected) from God.
comes only from others. We place the merit on the person and we do not think to thank the source of Love. We may become proud.
We can say of a person that he is good, but kindness comes from God. We can say that a person is beautiful, but beauty comes from God. We can say that he is strong, but strength he receives from God. Everything that makes life good, beautiful and strong is God’s. Although we try to love as best we can,…More

Piece of Papal History at Queens Church
Hundreds of thousands of people attended the canonization of Pope John Paul II, and since he became a saint, millions have asked for his intercession. This Saturday marks 10 years since that moment, and while the Vatican is holding its own celebration, there’s a place where you can find a connection to the pope a lot closer to home.

Until last year, Cardinal John Njue, the retired archbishop of Nairobi, Kenya, was known to have been born in 1944.
Since the day and month of his birth are not known, he would have lost his right to participate in a conclave on 31 December 2024.
But in Francis' Church things change. According to the latest papal yearbook (Annuario Pontificio), Nuje's new birth year is 1946. No reason has been given for this mysterious change.
Another prelate who had his year of birth changed, but not in his favour, was Cardinal Henryk Gulbinowicz (+2020), the Archbishop of Breslau. Until February 2005 his birth year was 1928.
Gulbinowicz then declared that he was born in 1923, saying that his parents had changed his year of birth to prevent him being drafted into the war.

@John A Cassani @Liam Ronan
What he says is true, but in a state where judges know the laws. The Vatican judges called by Francis have never obtained a degree in Canon Law or Vatican Law. How is it possible to exercise a key role such as that of President of the Court without having any knowledge of what is "the first normative source and the first interpretative reference criterion" of the Vatican legal system? How can the Promoter of Justice of a State carry out criminal proceedings if he doesn't even know the rules?
If a French lawyer wanted to practice in Italy he could not do so unless he had demonstrated - by taking exams and tests - that he knew the Italian legal system. If a Brazilian lawyer wanted to be a magistrate in Italy he would not be able to do so unless he had taken the judicial competition. This is fundamental to protect the State from any accusation of corruption, appointments made in a non-transparent way, etc... but also for the defendants who have the guarantee that …More
